I always thought to do a burn out you held the clutch, selected first, floored the gas, released the clutch. (admittedly, I don't know that I ever did any on purpose..)

“Burnouts" are social constructs and therefore you can't prove that's not what that is. No mention of whether that's just how they've wired up their smoke machine or if the smoke is head gasket material.
