I originally wanted a WRX wagon and ended up buying a Miata instead. 5 years later I ended up buying my STi as well anyways. But still, thats where I started somehow. Those two cars definitely do not fit the bill for each other in any way other than “be fun at the expense of something”. Be that practicality in the case of the miata. And gas mileage/sound deadening/head gaskets for the subaru.

Maybe the Golf R is a New Mexico thing but there are tons of them here. At least one owner I talked to about his said he bought it basically because Subaru doesn’t make an STI hatch anymore so the Golf R is basically the only AWD hot hatch left to consider . I guess the Focus RS also falls in that mix but I see way less of them.
