Chariotoflove !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! me of this curious fact . Two auctions ended today on BaT, both posted to Oppo at the same time this morning by happenstance, both 4x4 SUVs but both very, very different.

One of these sold for $90,000, the other for $5,200. One will be driven, the other, well, frankly who’d want to?

I’m actually a little disappointed I didn’t bid on the one I’d actually want, but it is an auto. Regardless, all hail the best truck sold today, and thanks to Arch Duke for bringing it to our attention.

I can get you a manual very easily if you want one... They are cheap, usually 4k$ landed or under before importation, which would be an extra 600$... in the states..

BaT has done to the online car auction world what Barret-Jackson did to the muscle car market 15 or so years ago. It has attracted all the people with more money than sense and priced out the vast majority of enthusiasts.

Do you know why the prices on many car models have seemingly doubled (or at least 1.5x) in the last 5 years or so? Is it a conversion rate thing, or is it just a supply and demand issue? For example, Doug bought his R32 GTR for roughly $25k from what I remember, but they seem to be closer to $35k now.

Also, I previously owned a 90 MR2 GT that I miss dearly. If the opportunity ar ises in the future, I’d like to replace it with a 96-98 model. Do you have contact info for the importing business you do?

Yes... GT-R just gained value because GT-R, but for the rest of the cars, it’s Covid. Basically dealerships have been craving for any car... They can’t get as many new cars as possible as production slowed down quite a bit, so they need used cars to compensate the loss and that means that everyone is now fighting and paying way too much for those... It seems to calm down now though... MR2 prices are still quite high though, even buying a good NA is tough and turbo models in good condition requires buyers to pull 15 to 20k$ out of their wallet for one... Basically, popular models are still victim of Covid high pricing... But people seem to cool a little on less popular ones (like that Pajero Mini).
And yes https://www.facebook.com/amagasakimotor for most US stuff and https://www.facebook.com/Redline-Exports-Japan-306922620084798 for some US cars along with lots of Euro stuff that’s not US legal.

They are cheap... not great for highway, but it doesn’t matter too much. I recently got a full size manual turbo diesel one too ;)

Oh I just sold it :)
But I’ll have more... I have just received a crazy good and nice (but auto) turbo diesel 3.0L 7-seater KZJ 78 Land Cruiser... That thing will be AWESOME to offroad. But not the same price range as that manual turbo diesel Pajero XR2 haha. Expect around 20k$ landed for the LC, whereas the Pajero was 10k$ landed...

Dumpbed keitrucks are always beaten to hell... I have never seen a good one. I really don’t recommend them.
