Flying cars, perpetually around the corner.

...this is my last drafted hour rule post so it’s someone else’s turn for a while, grumble.

IIRC, Terrafugia deliberately avoided calling the Transition a flying car, instead calling it something akin to “roadable aircraft”.

It is a slow night on OPPO.
While I love flying and plan on getting my private pilots license some day I think a flying car is a terrible idea in the traditional sense.
Now an intelligent and automated machine running in a network of similar crafts would work one day when the tech gets there. People can barely drive without killing each other, flying on top of it is a terrible idea.

I created 5 or 6 hour rule posts in advance, because I was tired of scrambling with 2-3 minutes, and I blew through them all in two days.
It’s definitely been up and down lately.

Jack of all trades, master of none?
While I enjoy the idea of a vehicle that both drives and flies, I feel like it would have to sacrifice a lot of both to be possible. So instead you end up with a vehicle that isn’t very good at either. I can’t think of too many things in nature that are good at both flying and walking.

Ahh, that’s so cute.
Didn’t somebody fly one of those “personal jets” the other day? Thought that flashed through one of my aviation feeds.

Or a “do it yourself aluminum rummage sale”....
