The governor’s said he’ll pardon them if they are convicted, but I don’t think the governor will be in a position to refund them their attorneys’ fees. If they’d stood proud on their porch with their weapons slung and holstered, yet prominently visible, they’d not be in the mess, politics or no politics.

I’m hoping the governor isn’t the governor by the time this ends.... actually November, as that’ll probably be sooner.

I agree but he also only became governor after the elected governor resigned as he was about to be impeached for blackmailing a woman he had an affair with using nude photos he took without her permission.
I did not make any of that up.

I don’t agree with pardoning them. They don’t deserve a pardon, and they are racist pieces of shit.
The surprise is that Missouri’s governor can only pardon people after conviction. Most governors (and the president) can pardon anyone for any reason, including people that weren’t convicted or even charged with anything.
The McCloskeys need to be disbarred

This state has turned into a cesspool of republican corruption parading as the moral high ground. I can’t wait until I move and never plan on coming back.

I just commented to my wife how morally bankrupt the right has become. I have our Republican governor good marks for taking the mask thing seriously, and then he trotted out the election fraud disenfranchisement routine. From Trump to McConnell all the way down, they’re a bunch of hypocritical grasping racist douchebags.

There’s almost no way he isn’t re-elected. Galloway would be a good governor but she doesn’t stand a chance. This state is still way to sexist and republican to elect a democratic female governor.

Yes, their base is white nationalist and the religious hate mongers. It is disgusting.
The thing to remember is that they all know what they are doing and they intend to both sow discord and destroy the fabric of out culture to enrich themselves and their friends.

If the governor doesn’t, the most unpresidented POTUS ever will.
These are the people who really ‘win’ with the cowardly corrupt regime in power now. They’ll get away with it - this part of the socio-economic spectrum always does.

With what I’ve been seeing around St Louis in recent years , I’m pretty sure that if one of the protestors had walked up and punched these two they would currently be getting charged for injuring the protestor’s fist with their noses . It doesn’t matter what they did or didn’t do, or what the protestors did or didn’t do. The area has repeatedly traded one set of problems for another, and this is just one more aspect of that ongoing problem.
I think t he dumbest thing these two really did was to still be living there . It’s certainly the dumbest thing I’m doing, and I’m not even in the city proper. In my defense, I have been wanting to move farther out, but right now is a bad time for that .

Stupid is what stupid does. The same lot who defend these people are the same lot who want unfettered firearms rights and availability. Part of the firearms deal is a responsibility to act safely and responsibly. Gives gun owners a bad look.

I’m just... tired. St Louis has always had problems, but it isn’t the same place it was when I moved here . On top of the real problems, I keep seeing bigger differences across w hat I hear from people who live and work here , what I see from local news outlets, and what I see from national news outlets . And then people who aren’t here say stupid things because the only information they ever got was from national sources that cherry picked the 10% of facts that supported whatever they wanted to push that week . I have to assume that news I see from other cities isn’t of any better quality .

I’m not counting on it. Harris gave Mnuchin a handy when he got caught breaking laws in California. Afterward, he donated to her Senate campaign.

We all know laws only apply to certain socio-economic subsets.
It’s funny that fiscally, Mnuchin appears to be reasonable, compared to 45. At least he knows the economy is going to take a shit again eventually without a big new dose of stimulus.
Regarding Harris, doesn’t warm my heart but more palatable than Pence.

Born into an affluent background with parental largesse and/or connections helping them get a leg up when starting out, then later they drone on and on about how they are self-made and built it themselves . See the Bush clan, and 45 himself, among others.

yup. We now
know how stupid 40% of Americans are. They should not have access to dangerous things like guns or cars.
Being lawyers, I would’ve thought they would’ve been smart enough to take a basic firearms class. Which would’ve taught them brandishing is a felony in Missouri.

She had more vitality than Biden, still didn’t hit hard enough IMO, but I want that more than others, perhaps. I didn’t see it all, but I know the Ds are still trying to be “civil” against the most regressive regime in American history.
Pence continued to be a coddled boring drone only a “mother” could love.

Which would’ve taught them brandishing is a felony in Missouri.
How about that it’s not a clever plan generally? As I’ve said: they could have stood tall on their porch with their weapons slung and holstered and if the DA wanted to mess with them, they’d have a point. But that’s not what they did. But I am repeating myself. Stupid people make me mad sometimes and 2020 has been the Year of the Stupid People.

I think there were two or three times that she could have smacked him pretty good, but she kept her powder dry, which has been Biden’s strategy all along, and it seems to have worked. I am continually astonished by how self destructive Trump is. Trump quit the debates, as I’m sure you’ve heard, and no doubt to the entire country’s relief. Still, if I were Biden’s message man, I’d be saying, “Of course he quit the debate after his u nmitigated disaster last time. He just needed an excuse.” I’d be surprised if Trump didn’t die of a stroke or a heart attack sometime soon, just preferably not before mid-November.

I wish the Ds as a whole would strike back when the opportunity presents itself. There’s been plenty of opportunity since January of 2017, but far too little striking. The Ds need to make a big deal out of 45 chickening out.
I think 45 is afraid there will be a moderator with a mute button. I am not one to wish specific ill on anyone, bad mojo, but if something happened to the worst president in history, I won’t be wearing black.
