Lol.
Don’t you start with that one. The last German born British monarch was George II, born October 1683 in Hanover , died October 1760 in London . Lol.
((also for Americans, there is no ‘Queen of England’, the last Queen of England was Elizabeth I and she died in 1603. The current monarch is, ‘ Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith’. But ‘Queen of the United Kingdom’ is also accepted by most)).

Kind of amazing that 80's camaros were just about as big as an early 2000's 7-series. Way shorter wheelbase on the Camaro, but those overhangs......

She’s also technically Paramount Chief of the Fiji Islands, but she’s never accepted or used the title herself.

Under Fiji’s initial republican constitution, the hereditary native chiefs held the power to elect the president and approve amendments, and at one of their first meetings, they voted to confirm that she still remained the high chief over all the other chieftains, even if she was no longer head of state of the country, since their ancestors had conferred that status to Queen Victoria and it was only theirs to revoke.
Of course, under their current constitution, the Great Council of Chiefs no longer exists and the chiefs no longer have any official recognition from or role in government.

It’s stuff that like that, that makes me proud of her Majesty, the people of the Commonwealth of Nations and itself, the Commonwealth of Nations.
While many if not most wanted to become republics or self governed, they (almost) all chose to stay together in a voluntary capacity. They could of said, ‘ right, I’m out of here!’, but they didn’t, they saw something, saw the good that a group of it’s kind could could achieve for themselves and each other. Hopefully after Brexit we can be allowed to do more for each other.
The Commonwealth of Nations is an amazing if little talked about thing, it encompasses every race, religion and continent, all pledging to support each other.

It really is like a global family. As in any family, there’s some disagreements (cough! India and Pakistan), but, ultimately, there’s a lot more that binds together than separates. There’s even countries that were never part of the British Empire - Rwanda and Mozambique - that have joined because of the value they see in it. Lot of unrealized potential there, certainly.

There has been more discussions over the last few years in British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand parliaments about CANZUK.
Trade deals are being reached in Australia and New Zealand with the U.K. (though not greatly benefiting the U.K. anywhere near as much as it’d benefit Australasia which is a sticking point for some back benchers in U.K. parliament, but senior politicians (on both sides of the aisle) are trying hard to get more done).
Though I never wanted Brexit, I can see the benefits as well as the cons. One benefit is the freedom to trade with who we want to more. Granted, it’ll take a while to find our feet again, but hey, what else is there to do, curl up and hope it goes away, or the old British spirit of, ‘make do and mend’.

It is a compelling case
. Each country’s own influence in the world would be magnified through the backing of the other 3, and working together, that’s a $6.5 trillion economy - bigger than Japan, Germany, and India - with 137 million people - bigger than Mexico
and just shy of Russia. If a defense component was added, there p
robably would be enough to leap over Japan to field the world’s 4th strongest naval force, after US/Russia/China.

It’s been looked at that trade between the U.K. and Australasia may be limited, trade between Canada and the U.K. would greatly benefit and trade between Canada and Australasia would be greatly beneficial. On a distance prospective. We share history, language, culture, laws, etc... It’s said we are the four most closely aligned countries.
Combined with fellow Commonwealth of Nation countries.
That’s most if not all trade routes, all areas covered, etc...
But we’ll have to see what happens I guess.

I was looking at a 2000s 3 series parked next to a 2010s Kia Optima and the BMW looked tiny! Way shorter with like 3 /4 of the wheelbase.

I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Was it George I? Hmmm, I don’t think so.
Go on, who was it?

Go on, who was it?
I think Edward VII. But his wife was Princess Alexandra of
Schleswig-Holstein-
Sonderburg-Glücksburg,
but born in Denmark.
