I saw that article too and was actually stunned at the journalistic irresponsibility of pumping up smart watches with a ne’er a mention of the security and privacy nightmare they are.

Here is what Kinja is really saying.

I forgot Perez Hilton (not to be confused with Paris Hilton) is a thing.

For what it’s worth, he’s not a great human. Not much worse than a gay man that makes a career out of trying to out allegedly closeted LGBT+ people. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of his terrible-ness.

I can’t remember the post, but there was an article maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago that was pinned for like 4 or 5 days straight, and finally I clicked on it out of morbid curiosity, and it only had like 30 comm ents on it. Which means, they just choose an article to pin there. It isn’t even a popularity thing.

So dumb.

If they’re going to do it, at least pin something from the Jalopnik front page on Oppo. Seems like they’d convert way more clicks that way.

My main problem with them is that they’re an extension of your phone. I spend enough time on mine as it is. It’s nice to be able to put the phone down and disconnect . I’ve also spent too much on watches to stop wearing them.
