Well the 68 C10 is done!!!!!! Well for the most part. Got the new redline tires mounted up with some new trim rings and center caps. There is still small little things to fix, but the truck is running and driving and everything is working. So going to continue to get the little things fixed this winter but now driving the wheels off while the weather stays nice. So got out the good camera and snapped the finished pictures.

For those have missed out on the whole series of the restoration of the truck here are all the links to each update of the transformation of this 68 C10.

The crazy progress you made on this truck continues to amaze me. You shortened and restored it in less than a year! And the final product is drool worthy. I love everything about this build!

Nothing left but to drive it!

Cool, my dad had a long bed in metallic green. The blue is really nice. I wish I could get my truck project done, the smoke hasn’t helped that. I look forward to making a final post.

Looks great!  Roughly how much power does that crate 350 make?

Turns out its not a new crate motor. Once I had the motor out ran the numbers on it and its a 74 4 bolt main block, 71 Z/28 heads, like a RV cam. I didnt pull the heads but I bet its at least flat top pistons. Its probably only 250/300 hp at the flywheel. Nothing crazy it just runs like a sewing machine.

Thanks! I do have another lined up, but not going to get heavy on it for a year though. Still collecting parts and laying out the game plan for it.

Nope they are not, my 68 Camaro has been “done” for 15 years and I am still tweaking and fixing things.

All of the shutdown stuff is the main reason this got done so fast as all my car show weekend and other car events got erased so I just hunkered down in the shop and cranked this one out.

Man, that’s about as perfect a truck as I’ve ever seen. All killer, no filler!!! Everything is clean, tight, and beautiful.

My hat’s off to you sir, this is the kind of project I aspire to.

Looks beautiful.  Any chance that is a Chevy paint code that you used?  I am going to repaint the El Camino at some point and while your color is not the same, I could at least use it to eliminate one potential color!  The El Camino was repainted in what I was told was a stock Chevy paint, but I don’t know which color it actually is.

Yes this is a factory Chevy paint. This is 1967/1968 Medium Blue Poly, it is a factory pickup color and shows up on the Chevy Commercial paint chip pages as the trucks used those for colors.
