The 2-doors are only 146" long — that’s 2.5 feet shorter than my IS. I could cram six of those sumbitches in my garage and shed.

Is that what these are? Can never tell which parts are black so they look removable, and which parts are removable. Is it just the back part that comes off?

In the Rav4, yes jus t the back comes off. Same for the Freelander and Sportage convertibles of the time.

As I understand, it’s a single removable piece of fiberglass. On the red one, the rear glass frame pops out, but the structure and side windows (might?) r emain.

My old Land Rover Freelander had a similar design, where the whole shell popped off and could be removed. It was pretty awesome for beach days.
