The last night in this house
After a debacle of mammoth proportions by the bank of the folks buying our house we have final word that all is in line for closing tomorrow morning.
Generally, what was supposed to be done two weeks ago (appraisal of the house we’re selling) wasn’t done until Monday, and no one got the results until 4:00 tonight that it came back high enough that the buyers could close on their loan.
I was not sleeping, and on pins and needles. We are closing on the sale at 11 then closing on the buy at 12. While I’ve really made this 28x30 garage my own I’m looking forward to the next chapter.

I would do a lot for a garage, but I won’t live anywhere, so here I am.

Rad, congrats! It’s amazing how stressful it is, when nothing is in your control and you just have to wait for others. Hows the new garage?

A 28x30 garage.
There are certain body parts I’d gladly give up for that.

That sounds incredibly stressful. Best of luck on the closings today!

Really good! I’ll post some pictures after closing. 50x28 and “finished” (aka someone else sloppily finished it because “its a garage”) with heat.

All you had to give up was $175k and you got a bonus house with it!

Thankfully the stress ended when we got the call. Now it’s just closing which we’re all cleared to do and moving which isn’t as stressful as we haven’t lived in the house we’re selling for a year now anyway and can really take our time.

Annoyingly that’s much cheaper than my house with a much smaller garage

$175k can easily buy you a house with a garage in Colorado. Unfortunately, it doesn’t cover the time machine to take you back to 1995 to buy it at that price because now it costs $425k.

We ended up at $135/sq ft if you want to look at it that way. I was really happy with the sale price as I had purchased the house 11 years ago for $70k.
