I was cruising back from the grocery store in the minivan, driving normally, when some bro in a modded 86 rips a WOT run next to me in second gear. It was probably the highest noise:speed ratio I had ever seen from a car.

Hah - the highest I’ve ever seen was my buddy’s Suzuki Sidekick in high school.  He drove that thing like he stole it all the time, granted it was super slow.  Made lots of noise but never really went anywhere.

The reason I was thinking Seville is that it’s more or less the cheapest Cadillac of all time (voiding the “overspent on a Cadillac” idea), is only “overspent” on relative to, say, a Celebrity. And, it’s old enough where in another brand it would maybe be a maintenance nightmare and money pit (the other prime target)... but is one of GM’s most reliable platforms ever and parts cost is approximately “redeem cereal boxtops” level cheap.

Combine that with being possible to buy more or less with pocket change itself: a s far as I’m concerned, that’s checking nearly all the boxes.

You have never seen my Protege5 with the fart cannon. (I bought it like that).

To be fair, it was amazing fun to pin the throttle, slam shfits, rev it to redline in multiple gears....  and still not be breaking the speed limit.
