!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I’d take it with a grain of salt for coming here or not, but if they adopt the Fusion name, I’d say we have a decent chance of getting it here.

Makes sense to me. Ford was going to sell the Focus Active (basically a copy of the Subaru Crosstrek) here in the US until Cheeto tariffs made importing it from China unprofitable. As long as this Fusion Outback is built somewhere unlikely to be Cheeto tarriffed, that’d fall in line with Ford’s strategy.

Weird Flex but OK.

Can I buy lowering springs for it

This is one of those cars where I used to say “If they made a wagon, I’d buy it”
And I think I still stand by that. A better-looking, more reliable Outback for (probably) less money and an actual auto transmission ?

how does a hacked-together mule “confirm” anything? could be just an old mule for the ‘20 Escape.

“the process or result of joining two or more things together to form a single entity”
Fusion seems the perfect name for the strange thing picture above...

This is one of those cars that have been made as an estate for sometime, only it hasn’t been available in the US. They even made an ST version.

better looking? that’s just like your opinion man
more reliable? maybe, I’d rank Subaru and Ford on the same level for reliability
less money? yea, most likely
actual auto transmission? introducing Ford’s new and improved DCT! (probably not though)

somewhere unlikely to be Cheeto tarriffed
I’m not sure such a place exists? Maybe Saudi Arabia?

This was rumored a while back. I’m pretty sure the US is getting it, one of the articles I seem to recall mentioned that US dealers were concerned Ford was discontinuing the Fusion because it had built up some decent name equity.

The current Focus has a
n eight speed torque converter automatic option so p
resumably this will be the same.

yea...i doubt Ford will be heading down the DCT route again anytime soon lol

I had a Mondeo Estate years ago in the UK, and as generic as it was, I enjoyed it. Since this was the first Mondeo launched in the US before the rest of the world, I honestly didn’t realize they had an estate/wagon version of it...

LOL, hopefully not the leftover DCTs from the last fiasco...
Don’t get me wrong, this mockup doesn’t look cohesive at all. I just can’t do the Outback’s styling over the past 2 cycles. The Forester and Crosstrek look great in comparison. Even the Ascent has its charm. But the Outback just feels like something is always off, like 10 different people designed it separately.

I think the newest one looks pretty good. Though I get what you’re saying. The last one looked...frumpy? Idk...like you said there’s just something off. For the new one though I think it might be the standard integrated roof rails/rack...it looks a lot cleaner without them.

The green/black comb definitely helps. And the integrated rack, as practical as it is, definitely adds to much to the plasticky look. If they’re going to stuck with chrome window surrounds, maybe chrome the rails, too. Or black it all out like the Onyx edition :D

Bear in mind though that Ford did dry clutch and wet clutch DCTs. North American Focuses got the chea
per dry clutch one which had its issues. The Mondeo/Fusion and its derivatives plus rest of the world Focuses got wet clutch ones which seemingly are less troublesome. VW found the same with their seven speed dry clutch model which they used on smaller engined Golfs and the P
