Is that at San Jose? I took Hainan’s SJC flight a few years ago. I thought the service was great, but food was just OK.

Nice, enjoy the flight! Do you fly on one of the former Virgin America Airbuses with Alaska ?

Nice. I took this last year in Madrid (to where I flew on LATAM’s Dreamliner, btw).

Actually today yes. It’s a new interior and paint job too. I came down on a 737-900. I liked it when they hadn’t changed over the interiors yet. The pink lights and glass dividers were cool.

nice! I liked seeing it in person. It is a good looking plane.

If boeing had just bailed on the 737 and moved to replace it using dre amliner tech they would sitting pretty right now.

You are not wrong. They already have the 777 too, call it the 737-TRD Pro

Maybe, could have growing pains from the new airliner though, and they’d lose all that customer lock in they were desperately trying to preserve. The benefits of all that expensive carbon fiber are also more limited on a short haul airliner (though possibly there would also be a big long-term benefit if the airframes no longer wore out from pressurization cycles).

Oh good, I flew on one of their A320s a few weeks ago with the new paint but old interior. I t was nice, but was a little worn, the foam piece of one of my armrests was falling apart and was repaired with tape for example. I guess t hey are probably holding off investing money in upkeep of the old interiors in areas where they can before the plane goes in to have the new interior installed.

I fly to China pretty often and the 787 is my favorite plane so far. I haven’t flown an A350 yet though.

I am fairly certain that they are upgrading All the jets that they plan on keeping for a while.

The largest plane I’ve been on recently is a 737-900. I have not been across the ocean since I was a teen.

Making a short dreamliner the size of a max would have left the dreamliners larger diameter cabin would have lost much of the gain of using the carbon fiber, vs the 737s smaller profile. the problem overall is not filling the void of the 757 mid size.

i remember reading @2015 if boeing switched the 737 over to CF, they’d be using over 50% of the worlds output.

i took one to oppomeet. When I saw the two guys I was between, we all said “F@#$” internally. Cabin did feel better, but the BA economy seats were cramped.

BA served me alcohol when I was 17! You can’t get that in the US.

Yeah, they would still have needed a narrowbody, they shouldn’t just make a super short 787. Though there is talk that the 757 replacement will be a short two aisle plane.
