On one hand, it’s ridiculous the amounts of money (I don’t have) that people spend on these types of nostalgia driven purchases.
On the other, Bring a Trailer really weeded out the bullshit of 2nd hand car purchases for anyone looking for a special vehicle. It is also the best type of window shopping this side of the Porsche configurator.

My TSX wagon had 47k on the clock, it’s like new. After taxes and everything is was about $ 17K. But I love it and it’s like a new car, I haven’t seen another so clean and low miles. No accidents!

That’s why I jumped on my 250k Aristo when I did. Everything Japanese and pre-2005/6 is about to jump up in price very soon if it already hasn’t. Especially RWD Toyotas.

What do you buy this for? Love it, but for that money a newer car could be had for a better daily driver (although if you want RWD and reliability the options slim down a lot) with more performance and MPG, if you want a weekend fun toy, again, probably better choices. Boggles the mind (mine at least) to think it might be squirreled away and rarely driven as a collector car.
Don't get me wrong, I am loving me some vintage IS, mine has 96,000 miles and still going strong, but....

“Price is firm I KNOW WHAT I GOT!, no dreamers, time wasters, or tire kickers, no trades!, test drives only with cash in hand. Don’t ask me questions just give me premium money for my rare automobile, V-6, breaks redone. 100% original, fresh paint and custom intake, turbo exhaust, coilovers ”
Learn the mantra for when it comes time to sell, buyers love this kind of stuff because they know you are serious and have a good car.
Sorry, your comment sort of took me down a path.

I agree with your assessment entirely. It’s gonna get a manual swap and be flipped, OR it’s going to sit in a garage for two years and be flipped. There exists no other purpose to buy one for 15 grand right now.

why not? you can get a lot more boring cars for that money. Great way to spend the cash
