I'd take the Volt. I'd strongly consider buying a first generation, but Mrs. BaconSandwich says whatever I get needs to seet our entire family (so 5 seats). Second gen Volt could work, but I've been eyeing up the Bolt.

My nephew has a Volt and boy, what a complicated car that is to drive. Cars with batteries have a long way still to evolve.
