I applied with Grundy and Hagerty. Grundy denied me and said the car is “not a classic” and “doesn’t meet their value requirements.” I was fine with that, but I was equally frustrated that they got my hopes up with a quote.
Hagerty was as nice as can be and gave me full coverage with a $0.00 deductible on collision and comprehensive. And, a guaranteed value of $3,500.00 . At a whopping cost of $4.00 more per month than I was paying for liability only on the car when it was on the same policy as the Highlander and the 6.

Awesome! I’ve always heard great things about Hagerty. What’s their cutoff - is it 25 years?

I switched to Hagerty with my truck last year when I was “renting” it for the day to the BBC. It’s super cheap, I think $127 per year. I like the agreed value clause, too. That’s especially important with anything “older” at all.

Weird, when I got a quote from Hagerty for the Corvette they were like 3x the price of my insurance I use on the rest of my cars for similar coverage.

That is strange indeed.

My dad had Hagerty for his 85 Merkur XR4Ti road car and they seemed great for a limited use classic.
