It is definitely not - I saw them in Concert back in early August in an outdoor amphitheater in Fort Collins Colorado and they were amazing!

Reel Big Fish is exhibit 1 as to why Ska is dead. Here, have some Ska:

Were there any ska bands playing?

It was an awesome show - MEST, then Reel Big Fish both played a kickass set. Closing was Bowling for Soup which was disappointing.
I’ll admit that I still call them a Ska band, they’ve always been on the fringe of Punk but stayed closer to Ska than most others from the genre.

Not so long as Hellcat records has anything to do with it... (full disclosure I saw Rancid and The English Beat this week)
Ok maybe a little lacking in horns for full ska but still very skankable

TIL Mest was still a band. I love Ska but have never enjoyed Ska revival bands too much. Have some Prince Buster:

Yeah MEST still rocked it hard. Up there dancing and jumping like they weren’t in their 40's. Got the crowd super pumped and even a mosh pit started - got in and jumped around myself for 2 minutes.
