Maybe not quite so bad as pictured, but still,
a hole in the rocker panel is not something I was planning on dealing with tonight. For right now, I’m just putting some rust prevention on it, then I’ll figure the best course of action. I wish I knew how to weld, but it’s not really worth the effort for a 13 year old car with 195K on it. It’s held up remarkably well, for being in NW Ohio all its life.

Here’s my collection of sealed beams. When you hit high beams you get FOUR LIGHTS! Also with rust starting in the rockers.

Grand Am, 1985 -1988 ( they kept the bodystyle through 1991, but lost the sealed beams in 1989 IIRC ) , LE given the sealed beams.

Consider this- my dad bought a ‘73 Cougar brand new. By ‘77 it had rust holes in the trunk floor and quarter panels.
