It once was a requirement for a true performance car, now it’s a brave decision for a manufacturer to make a car that is manual-only. Considering the vast majority of people don’t know how to drive one, you’ve just excluded a big part of the market. On the other hand, manual only earns a lot of enthusiast credibility.
I think this is the list now (in the US):
Mustang GT350
Camaro 1LE (except ZL1 1LE for some reason)
Civic R/Si
911 GT3 Touring (991.2)* (no longer in production, 992 version not announced yet)
7 18 GT4/Spyder
WRX STI (STI only)*
What am I missing?

Ohhhh, manual ONLY. I was confused for a second. Subaru STI in the US (Not the WRX, just the STI) is manual only. 2019 Veloster N is manual only as well.
These are the only ones
I can think of in the moment. And I think 2020 the Veloster N gets a non stick option.

Ford performance hatches...oh wait...now I'm sad

Yeah, that’s what made me think of this. The loss of FiST and FoST in the US. I’m surprised Civic Si is still manual only.

I wouldn’t even call these manual-only cars, these are manual- only trim-levels.
And honestly, I’m surprised that even those exist, given how unpopular manuals are in the US, and the fact that all these cars have automatics which presumably could be installed.

STI - forgot that one. Veloster is off the list....

I may have improper use of a hyphen in the title. Never was good at that. Should it be “Manual only-cars” or “Manual-only cars” or no hyphen at all?

I think Manual-only works. Tbh I was blaming my own illiteracy more than anything else.
It’s kind of a shame that the ZL1 gets an auto option , but it’s the right money move. C7 stick shift uptake was woeful compared to auto sales.

I’d say
Manual-only cars
or
Manual-only-cars
or
Manual only cars
but definitely not
Manual only-cars
Note: I was not a good English student, so I imagine there is actually a “right” choice here, but it’s definitely not the last one (unless I’m really wrong).

Me to actually. But does Honda have a DCT they could use? A normal auto would suck

True, and by that definition there are no true manual-only cars. Could weakly argue the Porsche Spyder maybe but it is a modified Boxster. I guess the big dollar 911 Speedster is in that camp too.

I believe the 718's will be offered with PDK in 2020, so that may be coming off the list.

Manual only cars: My garage. 4 cars, all manual with two teens learning how to drive. RIP my clutches.

What about Manuel-only cars?

The sad truth is we're likely to be doing a similar length list in 5 years of cars that offer a manual in the US..

Now that I’m thinking about it, I bet the Viper was the last true manual-only car in the US. If you saw a Viper, it’s a manual, every year, every car. I can’t think of anything else more recent.

True but no longer in production. These cars are the ones still being made and for sale in the US.

That list is already only sli ghtly longer... With Hyundai and Jeep giving up manuals in the mid-low level vehicles (Pa triot, Renegade, Elantra, etc...)

Exactly, and they're part of a long sad trend that will accelerate as more companies roll out hybrids and pure electrics. Soon it will be only enthusiast aimed cars with a penchant for the past (like Morgan) who will offer them..

I don’t have a problem with it as long as manual is an option.

Do you want to count a Polaris Slingshot as a car? I think in most states it’s legally classified as an “autocycle” which has no universal definition but usually only requires a standard drivers license .

I learned to drive in a manual only household. Last year, I taught my son to drive a manual in the car he came home from the hospital in. It's not hard to avoid burning up a clutch.

Yeah I guess so. That would include the Morgan and prob some other 3 wheelers. But they are more like a motorcycle mechanically than a car, I think.
