it’s not that flat-plane V8s can rev higher (that’s all due to airflow and peak piston speed) but that they can rev quicker  due to the lighter rotating mass.

If it is like most big-boy race engine builds , the engine lifespan between overhauls is probably along the lines of not more than 10-20 hours of run time at the most , maybe a bit more if you’re not trying to win and can live with the power loss past that point.

Correct... they can’t rev.  While that motor hits 9000rpm, a Formula 1 engine engines top out to a restricted 15,000 rpm... but probably can do 18,000 rpm or more if there was no restriction.

1) F1 engines aren’t exactly production based.

2) A properly set up SBC (noted production engine) can hit north of  13k rpm.
