Kinja'd!!!

If your garage door keypad doesn’t function as expected, use your front door key to gain access to your house.

Unless you forgot to remove the door stop before you left the house. You know that thing that you shouldn’t have to worry about because the keypad worked when you closed the garage door to begin with.

I ended up borrowing a hammer from my neighbor once I was able to push my front door open enough to reach around* and knock the door stop out of place.

Gonna need longer screws to reattach the door hinge properly.

Wouldn’t it actually be Oopsitelock instead of Oopslopnik?

No back door...?

We have two side doors, one up the stairs on the deck that goes to the kitchen and one on the bottom under it that goes into the basement. I remember once in high school I came home in the pouring rain on the school bus and mom was gone and I realized I had forgotten my key that morning, but mom had locked the house.

We have a front verandah that has no ground access, but I remembered it being unlocked the day before. I managed to climb up, partially using a raingutter downspout, onto the verandah, over the railing and get into the house through that door as nobody had remembered to lock it...lol

No backdoor.  Just a patio door with a stick laying in the track.  House was built in 1997.

Huh, weird....I think here in Nova Scotia ( depending on the size of the house), there legally have to be two doors to a domicile structure for ease of exit in the event of an emergency (unless the house is too small to reasonably allow for this) . Maybe I’m wrong on that, but pretty sure I’d read it somewhere!

I'm pretty sure that the patio door and garage door count as acceptable here

Ah yeah, a patio door would be.
