The first Corvette I’ve ever wanted in my life and IT’S NOT REAL!

Sure, it’s fake now, but someone is busy right now creating a body kit for it:

I saw this on Broadway in 2014, and I went insane. Guy confirmed it was a ‘59.

If they smoothed the rear of the scallop into a curved air vent it’d work so much better

That’s Lightning McQueen from Cars 4, yeah?

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I like it. I think you could, for not tons of money, re-create that look with a computer-printed decal by a video artist, or by an auto-painting artist with an airbrush. And somewhere I’ve seen rims that mimic the white walls, so combine those with some custom wheel covers that copy the C1 Corvette’s, and there you have it. The wheel covers could also be removable to showcase the more modern rims in some current-day pattern (though you’d still have the “white walls ”).
The funny thing about the resto-modded or rebodied C1 and C2 Corvettes over later Corvette chassis, is that I just can’t imagine that many of the owners take advantage of all that capability. Much like all of the high-horsepower muscle cars and show cars / Pro Street cars that take an occ a sional parade across the auction block and look like they’ve never seen a rock chip or a bug . At minimum, you need headrests (which were a rare option on C2s) if you’re going to go a-hooning, which a lot of the C1 clones lack . I’m all for some extra power and handling, but completely counterfeiting an early Corvette with all modern goodies and STILL not driving it, seems utterly pointless. Maybe I’m wrong and the owners to take them out, I just doubt it. I don’t think anybody who just did a mild custom on a C8 as an homage to the early cars would be put off exercising it a bit, though.

I wonder if anybody’s even tried to come up with a more period-correct windshield. It doesn’t look bad exactly, but it’s a dead giveaway. Of course you’d have to redo the top, or make it a pure roadster. Good color and wheel & tire choice on that one. As I wrote in my other reply, I do question if the owners of these things really use their performance. Then again, I almost never seen Corvettes of any description on the narrow back roads near me, maybe they’re all out on the highways--but I suspect they’re home in the garage.

Not exactly the same, but I saw this last year. Early C1 body style on a C5 IIRC. I thought it was hideous.
The proportions are wrong and tge windshield really looks off. Haven’t seen one where they fixed that.

If only I needed a car (never will, unless I move) and that thing existed. Would go six figures for that thing. Would have to sell my soul, of course ...

I’ve seen replica C2s with modern chassis cross the Mecum block on TV, they look really close but the windshield still isn’t right, though maybe not as dramatically bad as the one in your photo.

I totally missed this yesterday! It’s been said, but as the creator I’ll 110% confirm this is fake
