I love Kennywood. We went there a couple of years ago (I’ve got family in PA). The rides were great, the crowds were manageable, the price was right. After going to places like Six Flags and Disney, Kennywood was a breath of fresh air. 10/10 would go again.

I personally haven’t been back in several... decades (fuck, made myself feel old again....), but from what family have said, the place has really gone down hill since the Henninger family sold out to a Spanish company. Ride maintenance is appalling (the new Steel Curtain has been closed more than runnin g since opening day, and other rides share that problem), the prices have risen and offerings have shrunk, the food has changed for the worst (they were serving Hunts ketchup on Potato Patch fries. This is Heinz country motherfucker!) Not to mention the major controversy when they changed the cheese sauce....

Well, that’s too bad. When did they sell? I think we were there three or four years ago.

2007. It was okay for a while, but things have gotten bad over the last 5 years or so. The decline started under the Henninger family IMO, when they did away with $10 general admission + ride tickets and went to a ride-all-day pass, which is now $ 55. Granted, that’s a bargain compared to other parks, but it’s still prohibitive  if, like me, you go to walk around, eat, and play games.
