This exchange on the Jalopnik FB page made me laugh so hard. Even if you disagree with me about banning class actions, you can see that this guy stepped in it

I mean, I thought it was common knowledge even to those not familiar with law that class action lawsuits were heavily skewed to benefit lawyers?

I had a similar situation once on the FP. I was talking about NIH grants, and this guy tried to tell me that grants in the paltry $1M range weren’t even worth the time to apply. I proceeded to succinctly describe how those $1M R01 grants are the backbone of biomedical science in the US, and that they are the gold standard for funding success in this country. Best part is, I didn’t have to be snarky or insulting. I just said the truth and let its light shine.

He skulked away.

For most people it won’t hit home until the class action is for something employment related and they read the terms of the settlement.

The last one with DCH and Lithia was so beyond disgusting. I almost feel apart of the problem whenever I sign onto a claim.
