Out of sheer boredom I’m getting back into learning C++ again. So long, sanity, we had a good run.

I learned to program before object-oriented programming was a thing. I’ve thought about learning some basics, but haven’t taken the plunge. I notice you are using Visual Studio (which I have installed). What are you using for lessons?

A textbook written by the guy that created C++ (Programming Principles an d Practice Using C++). Bit dense but it does a good job of explaining how things work and doesn’t require previous programming experience.
I had actually taken a C++ class years ago and I remember that textbook being very good but I can’t for the life of me find it. It’s probably in my mom’s storage unit.

Hello fellow programmer* ! You remind me that I used to be able to make a doggy walk across the screen in Commodore PET BASIC or on a TRS80!
*by which I mean, I’m not a programmer at all.

I'm nostalgic about C++ but I don't think that I actually miss it. But it would be fun to have the challenge again.

I made a temperature converter! It probably uses every bad coding practice there is but I did it on my own wi thout following a lesson so that’s gotta count for something, right?

Counts for a lot! You’re now ready to code for a 90s PC!
