In all these years I've never burned a LightScribe disc. And a year after buying a big stack of BD-R discs I have yet to burn one of those either. I would like to find some blank CD-Rs and make some new MP3 discs for the changer in my car; the same discs I put in there 5 years ago are still there...

I think the fanciest writable media I have are DVD9s. And honestly I have no idea where they are. I had a hunch when I bought them that they might never be used. On Black Friday 2000 I bought like 300 CD-Rs, which I assumed would last me until the end of time, or at least until they degraded to the point of being unusable, and I definitely feel right there. Probably have at least 100 left. I burnt a lot of Dreamcast games in college (don’t tell Sega!)

I used to burn a ton of DVDs, but it got to be a challenge to keep track of all of those discs. Lately I’ve just been using hard drives as removable storage since I can pick them up cheap in old DVRs. I still can’t find anything, as usual, but at least I have fewer things to sort through...

I bought a PC with a lightscribe back in 2010.

Learned that the lightscribe utility was not available after I reformatted the new machine. I was pissed that HP only made it available on their retail image, and not separately.

Finally found it somewhere weeks later. Success.

Scribed one disk.

I have no real u se fo r it as I never burn discs but I didn’t build my pc with a disc drive and wanted to add one. I noticed lightscribe ones didn’t cost a premium over re gular drives and since I’ve always wanted to try it I bought one.
