Over the years I have ordered from ECS, and all of the companies they have gobbled up in recent years (Turner, Pelican, what was left of BAV Auto...)
I’ve never had an issue. I was thinking just that when I stumbled across a bunch of posts talking about how much ECS sucks... I thought “one person had one bad experience and has blown it out of proportion” as I ordered wheel spacers and a few other odds and ends.
That was 15 days ago! When I have contacted them, they have told me that the shipment is delayed, but not much else. So I contacted the company that makes the spacers and asked about their agreement with ECS. They weren’t a ton of help but it sounded to me like ECS wasn’t their favorite client.
I’ve bought the spacers to play around with fitment before I decide on aftermarket wheels. Feeling like I should have just bought the wheels I’m pretty sure I’m going get anyway.
This is honestly not a big deal, but this is the second weekend in a row that I was hoping to do more than wash one of the cars. Gimme my parts!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I’ve found that Pelican has excellent customer service.
And jelly beans. Don’t forget those.

Pelican is awesome, I’ve never had an issue with Turner either. Before or After ECS.

How about FCP Euro? They usually have the best prices and good shipping times.

Hmmm. I’ve never had trouble with ECS either. Although, I’ve started buying from shopdap.com as my first choice for VW parts.

Love them. I went to ECS for spacers because they have a “flush kit”. Flush with the wheel arches is where I always like to start when choosing wheels for a new car. In the past I have run wheels that are only slightly different from factory specs.
T o get where I think I want to be on my Alltrack , I will have to change the offset a lot and stagger the rear wheels. I want to feel what that is like on spacers before I go all in on a set of wheels.

I don’t usually use ECS, but have used many of the sites they own. I’ve had very good experience with Pelican and Turner.
Jalopnik did a piece on ECS a while back. It was not a good look for them.

For non-ECS stuff that’s OEM or OEM-equivalent (not performance upgrades) I really like AutohausAZ.

ECS has a long documented history of being shitty. I ordered new lugs/spacers from them so I could run GTI wheels on my Audi. I paid for rush shipping because I needed everything quickly for a trip I was going on. They waited 5 days before they released the order from their warehouse which totally negated any benefit of rush shipping.
Apparently they are under new management now and I heard things were improving, but apparently not. Jalopnik did an article on it a while back I believe .

I saw that after I read down the rabbit hole about ECS a little bit. “42 Draft Designs” Is the company that ECS seems to get all of their VAG cnc’d parts from. I talked to them. They were very political about the matter not blaming ECS and saying that it would probably take the same time if I had ordered direct from them. However the lead time for the spacers on their site was 3-4 business days. Today is day 15 and just minutes ago I got an email from ECS saying that they expect to get them tomorrow...THEN they ship to me.
