I like both police services and having money to fund police services. Granted I think both the police and the IRS could use improvement, but I feel like explosives really aren’t the most productive way to get there.

There’s a faculty member on campus that daily drives a civic of that generation. It isn’t as clean as that one, but it is a remarkably intact and respectable original car.

i agree with you.....but also hate them

i believe they are vitally important to keeping the nation orderly and funded and dont have a problem with them being blown up

long as nobodies getting killed that is.... wich for the moment is the case

“test his gun rights”

Were these people just dropped repeatedly on their heads as a baby? Imagine having at least some common sense as the wife appears to, and b eing married to someone this stupid

The biggest problem with this one after 30+ years in the high desert is being much more of an ask me about Mary Kay products color instead of it's original red, but it is remarkably original.

Walmart boy is a effing moron.

If you told me he was a Russian agent sowing seeds of discontent it would actually make some sense.

Yea, here in the US we’re too busy arguing over whether our problem is due to poor mental health care or too many guns to do absolutely anything about either one.

Spoiler alert:  it’s both.

I think it’s cultural , Switzerland and Finland are full of guns, and mandatory military service. My dad is from a ranch in MT, I grew up learning about guns and respecting them as a tool. And as a combat Marine veteran people assume I am all for guns for everyone, I think bolt action rifles for hunting and shooting are all anyone needs in a rifle. I only want an old bolt action, I’m not fending off a hoard of zombies, but I’m a good shot so I can make them count if I needed to . The UK banned handguns as it was their particular issue and that did drop the shootings dramatically, but you can’t compare that situation to ours. I do like to take the old M1 out and hit some cans but I don’t think anything fancier is helping humanity as a whole.

There’s definitely a cultural piece to it, too.

I’m not a gun owner, but I fully support responsible gun owners having guns for hunting, protection or as a hobby.

I also feel that there are some people in our society who absolutely should not be allowed near firearms, and that at some point, a weapon becomes too efficient at killing to be left in private hands.

Seems like the voices on both sides can’t really grasp that there is a grey area, not just black and white.

And of course we need better mental health care.

For sure some people shouldn’t, but living in some places in say MT or AK is kind of crazy without guns! My dad is from the edge of the Beartooth Mountains and there and parts of AK have got to be the wildest parts of the US and things will try to kill you. These are places people give the steering wheel hand wave when you happen to pass another vehicle (infrequently) on a road. So I always hear arguments that won’t work for some areas, but for sure other areas don’t need all that. The US is so different from one region to another it may be impossible to have a blanket policy for it as a whole.

Yeah, I would agree that what Alaska needs isn’t what Chicago needs, and vice versa.

Tl; Dr - it just isn’t that simple, and this country doesn’t have the appetite for nuanced anything these days.
