Our 2008 Forester is 100% daily driver for my wife. As long as it starts and drives she has stated she will keep it forever.

Kinja'd!!!

I don’t mind this because while she drives it every day, it only goes 5km round trip so in 11 years it has just managed to break over 100K km (~60k miles..)

BUT now for the mundane details - The OEM carpet floormat has popped an eyelet and torn itself off the mounting hook. . I’m sure no one else has noticed but..

Kinja'd!!!

-I’m a fan of Weathertech mats, but not spending $200 for them.

-Subaru- ness means GD/GG Impreza mats probably fit, possibly even crosstek mats..

-finding new OEM 2008 parts in the same interior colour not likely..

-Ebay overnight from china options look questionable, but priced right at $45.

Just buy the factory rubber mats. Those will do 99% what a weather tech one will do and fit

FWIW, weathertech mats are absolutely worth it if you live in an area that gets snow or lots of mud. I’ve been incredibly happy with mine.

Husky make any for Subaru? I’ve had Weathertechs in a lot of vehicles and decided on Husky Weatherbeaters  for the 4Runner. I ended up getting a full set, with a cargo liner for about $150, but I used a coupon somewhere...

IMO weather tech is worth it. Even in an older car. I have them in both cars that get driven through the winter.

Haven’t had a car with carpet mats since 2010. First MINI in 2008 came with winters and haven’t looked back since. IMHO carpet mats are a terrible thing to put in cars.

My V60 came with weather techs but the edges are curled in slightly- anyone know how to uncurl them? Hot air gun?

(Have the Subaru rubber mats, but they are terrible - really don’t want them all the time..)

The Subaru mats crack in the first year right under the clutch pedal. I have them in my STi and Outback....Weather tech seems to be better.

Maybe it’s just the 2006 model years.
