Does anybody remember where I parked?
The 80' s certainly were more colorful.

I love the pretty yellow Reliant Robin right next to an E30 Baur convertible.

I’m kind of drawn by the VW van, but the chances are it was relegated to the scrap heap about three days after this photo was taken.

Had to look this one up (and good images are somewhat hard to come by) :

Wasn’t hard to find the spot, one of the reverse image search results identified it as being taken from Clifford’s Tower in York (I ad no idea what this was, so I have learned something). I spent way longer trying to find street view images that didn’t suck completely (I probably should have just done a normal image search).

It’s in very 1980s colors, too.

Judging by the newest cars in this picture it was taken in 1984, give or take a year. I see Austin Meastros (1982+), mk2 Fiestas (1983+), Ford Sierras (198 2+), BMW E30 Bauer (198 3+). There might even be a blue Jeep Cherokee XJ (1984+) in the back.
The mk3 Transporter doesn’t have the radiator grill, so it’s aircooled, and thus 1979-1982. So it could not have been older than 5-6 years old at the time, probably less.
Given that I still see mk3 Transporters on the road in 2019 they I imagine they weren’t that unreliable. Granted, the ones I see are almost always water cooled.

Surprised there isn’t more BL metal, then again, maybe not. But a nicely hued SD1 (maybe another in the back row) and XJ6 make up for it. Kind of surprised by the presence of a few BMWs, I also spot a W123 and S123 , first gen Celica and a few other Japanese cars, a few Volvos, a couple Sciroccos.

I approve of this picture because in the second row from the back in the center there appears to be a yellow
Lada 1200/1300/1500
estate :P

Yup, Barkas vans are cool....not sure how old the one in the pic is, but they were originally powered by the same 2-stroke 3-cyl DKW-derived engine the Wartburg was :P

I love the crazy olive green metallic color of that Beetle on the right!

Also, that first-gen FIAT Fiorno van at the bottom left in bright blue is very cool too! :)
