Possibly GenCon attendees. Plus a sharp Yamaha (don’t yell at me if this is a sucky bike, I just liked the color scheme) and an amusing sticker.

If your car rolls back on a hill, you don’t know how to drive stick shift

Are all clutches and transmissions created equal? I could imagine that a cheap car like a Cobalt might not have the best setup.
I had a different problem: I had severe stalling issues for several months, and starting on a hill was quite worrisome when someone was on my bumper. Fortunately there’s only one stoplight on a hill anywhere near me; unfortunately I was on it quite often during that time.

If you’re new to that car/transmission why not just use the hand brake? That’s what I’ve always done, especially when I am unsure about being able to take off smoothly

This is one of the purposes of a handbrake. If I’m on too steep a hill to start and it's going to roll back, I grab the hand brake before letting the normal brake go. That's just what I learned when my mom taught me how to drive stick. Everyone in my family does it, it's kind of what the hand brake is for.

That’s reassuring that there are lots of other people that use it regularly for that. I taught myself manual so I never knew if that was ‘wrong’ for hill starts.

Some people say "oh just hold it in place with your clutch and gas", but these people are idiots who need new clutches every 50k.

Exactly! Why would I do that when I can use my free hand and the part of the car DESIGNED TO HOLD IT IN PLACE ON HILLS/INCLINES. Now I always wonder about how much of ‘smoothly’ driving a manual is actually just trading comfort for clutch wear.
