I am in to this. The wheels really work with the rockets.

Nah, I call it more Gen X. Though to be full Gen X it need to be lowered and have the license plate displayed at an angle recessed in the tailgate.
I grew up in Frederick, MD in the 90's, which at the time was the last bastion of civilization before you ventured into the wilds of western MD, West VIrginia , and southwestern PA. Every Friday and Saturday night during the summers, the low rider crowd would descend upon our town from all those wretched wasteland s and terrorize the local citizenry by loitering in the Pep Boys parking lot and “dragging frame” up and down the strip.

Only way I can see this type of tailgate as being an advantage is if you get loaded up by a forklift a lot. My Jeep has a side hinged gate and I hate it. What advantage am I missing?

also makes it easier to unload stuff by hand since you dont have to reach/bend over the tailgate. it allows for more ergonomic lifting. personally the only advantage i see over a bottom hinged tailgate is it gives you a bench to sit on

Don’t get me started on minitrucks. Ugh.
Still better than stance/poke/hellaflush, though.
The rocket taillights are pure Boomer, IMO . Almost e veryone in Gen X was still unborn when cars had those.
Grey area would be those C4 Vette taillights on any truck.

Huh, I’ve had pickups my whole and just slid whatever I was lifting onto the tailgate so as not to have to bend over it.

Good point about the rocket lights . Gen X mini trucks were more euro tail lights. But the swinging tailgate and flush lower valance got me thinking of the minis.
