I thought this was a joke. Turns out it's legit and there's a sale on Walmart right now. I kinda want to get one and throw some games on it. I wouldn't trust it with my OS one bit. Anyone here knows about the performance?

Depends on whether it comes with a sticker for your case or not.

seems like an entry level SSD... buy a better SSD elsewhere online for similar/cheaper price.

The whole thread on SlickDeals devolved into a Hyundai/Kia apologist love-fest.
In a post about a hard drive.
Wait until they find out about Hyundai shipping containers. Their heads will a
splode.

Even an entry level SSD will outperform a traditional hard drive. Paying for a better one only makes sense if you’re a power user who regularly reads/writes huge amounts of data.

Can’t speak to that brand in particular, but an SSD really does amp up the performance of a system. Looking at the one at walmart, if you can hold out a bit, newegg often does sales/clearances with better value than that. I just picked up a 1TB drive for about 80$. 500GB should be about 50$ on sale from a brand like sandisk or western digital. Definitely give it a try. I’ve found them to be more reliable than my old HDDs, especially the ones from seagate and toshiba. I miss the old, slower HDDs from western digital since they seemed to be more reliable before all the companies stuck on bits and bobs to “compete” with SSDs.

Seems Walmart is fire selling a whole lot of brands as well. Thinking not getting a. Kingston one just as an additional spare drive. I'm up to 3 ssds now. Why not 4?

I kit bashed 2 systems together when my old machine died. 16gb RAM, Ryzen 5 1600. I keeps basically my entire steam library on 2, video renders on one, and OS on another.
