only the oldest models are backwards compatible right? ive actually got one in working condition collecting dust but i have no idea if its backwards compatible or not

Edit: just looked into it, apparently only fat models with 4 usb ports on the front are BC. mine only has 2. so its not

I have a very rare demo unit from circuit city in a closet somewhere. it has a bigger HD all the card slots and all that. I only used it as a Blu Ray player. Not exactly sure where it is but likely in the top of a closet somewhere. What is one of these worth to you?  I f it is worth me looking for it I might sell it...

I know what you’re looking for and have been trying for over a year to find one. I have a search set up on my CL app, and I’ll frequently check pawn shops. I thought I found one last week but they misread CECHE01 as CECHB01. As I recall it’s only the A and B models that have PS2 backwards compatibility.

I used to have one, but after 5 years ( bought used no less ) it finally gave up. I sent it out to have it repaired, only to have the guy lose it, now I’m out a system. I want a BC system because:

1. I don’t really have room for 2 systems to be hooked up.

2. My PS2 is on it’s last legs finally after 18 years.

So I’d like to just get one system that’ll do it all.

I’ve got a backwards compatible fat boy. No wifi, updated to 500gb HDD (which was once big) and has a few games downloaded on it. I even have the original box is came in! I’d argue that the cubs have always been relevant. they are one of baseballs oldest teams, in one of the most historic stadiums, in one of the largest cities of the world. success only plays a part to measure relevancy. and the cubs have found a great deal of success in the last 5 years or so. that said boston fans truly are the worst and it would take a lot for cubs fans to take that top spot.

Yup, just the 20 and 60GB launch models. They literally only made 1 batch of 20GB models and the 60GB model only lasted until the launch of the 80GB model 8 months later. Turns out putting an entire PS2 inside a console is way too expensive.

When the 80GB model was released as a special Metal Gear Solid edition it had software emulation of the PS2 but compatibility was bad and Sony actually patched that feature out entirely in a software update instead of fixing it.

Dude was super shady. He lost my system the first time it went to him, finally found it after 2 weeks, then sent it back to me still not working. So I sent it back to him as he “warrantied” his work, that’s when it got lost again.

Big UPS investigation, EBay investigation ( who did nothing because he somehow showed proof of sending it back to me ), then finally Paypal got him.
