Personally, I’ll stick with Alka Seltzer — tastes better and cures headaches and stomach
aches, as well.

Carbonated water costing twice as much as soda is a terrible business model.

Sort of like how I feel about Dasani costing as much as Coke. Dude, don’t sell me a raw material like it’s the finished product.

Older millennials are approaching age 40. One really has to wonder when how much longer
the term will be used as a synonym for “the youths”

It jumped the shark years ago, IMO. I’m just messing around at this point. Taking a cohort of people from basically
20-40 is pretty ridiculous to start with. If anything, fast-moving trends have taken the average “generation” down to about 5 years or so, culturally speaking.

Waterloo came in with a better product. Turns out they had a nonexistent moat. I’m sure the 30+ year old brand enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame.

In other news, apparently Perrier is back, this time without the “rich douche” stereotype that used to go along with it in the 80s.

Ah yes, soon our shelves will have a void on them that cannot be filled by another. Who, but LaCroix, could ever successfully sell sparkling water in such flavors as “Walked by some raspberries on a table” or “Manufacturing tank was cleaned with lemon-scented cleaner”. My personal favorite flavor was “Our workers were told to stare at a picture of a blueberry while they canned this”.
Serio us ly, I’ve never seen a less-flavored product. It’s like their whole thing was to evoke memories of flavors when you drank it. But not actually deliver the flavor itself.

I think I’m at the older end of the millennial bracket, but my straight edge friends drink this stuff like it’s going out of style. Which I guess it is.

I just drink Kroger brand fizzy water.

That’s because Kroger’s sells the same kind of thing but it tastes better while being cheaper.

I googled “waterloo” to see if it was a brand, and was immediately greeted with the news story “One dead in mowing accident in Waterloo”.

I used to love it. Then I discovered CVS and Publix brand flavored sparkling water.
So much better and cheaper.
![]() 05/30/2019 at 16:16 |

There’s not much in the Publix lineup that isn’t as good (or better) than the national brand.

I kind of understand the appeal now, it’s a “Not water” drink for people watching calories.
Though i prefer the plain one, not the flavored versions .
But I’d bet that lacroix isn’t selling less because lightly flavored bubbly water is becoming less popular, but because anyone with a bottle of CO2 and a canning machine are making their own version of it.

I quite like sparkling water but never really understand any of the “flavored” variety. Or really what the difference is between club soda and seltzer. Its just bubbly water, which I enjoy the carbonation. And its nice to not have the slimy feeling of corn syrup from soda or just the hyper amount of sugar. But anyways, I can never taste a difference when the can/bottle says “lemon lime” or “raspberry” or whatever. It’s akin to finding a difference in water brands, its just water!

Nice. I miss working down at Driver’s Way (back in the day...2003-04). When things were slow, I could just hop in whatever car and go fill it up with gas or take it to the other location. “Product knowledge”
![]() 05/30/2019 at 17:26 |

I wish we had that much freedom, but the most we could do similar to that is go get a car filled with fuel or take it to get it repaired off lot. It does seem like we stay much busier than DriversWay does, or so I’ve been told.

I haven’t tried most of the La Croix flavours, I’ve only ever had lemon and orange. I really enjoy the orange one.
I think it’s just too expensive compared to alternatives; I’m content with my store-brand carbonated water which is usually half the cost, occasionally more.
