I recently was reading this:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And what caught my attention was how well the Kona did.
The Kona looks like a nice BEV. Not as good as what Tesla makes, but not bad.
So I just looked up the pricing... in Canada, it starts at $45K. The Tesla Model 3 starts at $43,290 (standard plus model). The base Kona has a bit more range than the Model 3 Standard Plus (386km vs 415km). The Model 3 has a 0-60 time that is 2 seconds faster and is RWD vs FWD for the Kona.
Fast charging for the Kona is nowhere near as fast as it is for the Model 3.
While I don’t think the Kona will really compete with the Model 3 much (especially given that the Model 3 is
bigger and has more performance), I do think it will give the Chevy Bolt a run for its money as it costs the same, but the Kona has more range, has a similar body style and is a little bigger in most/all ways.
So for all of you who like the idea of a good BEV, but don’t want a Tesla for whatever reason, and the Bolt is too small, the electric Kona just might be for you.

The upcoming 2020 Kia Soul EV has some funk especially in this color. I saw this in person at the NY Auto show and I think it looks the part
Then there’s also the Niro EV it’s a lot more conservative

If the suspension tuning on the Electric is as good as it is on our Limited AWD, then it should be a great riding small car with surprisingly high handling limits , which puts ahead of the Bolt too.

Meanwhile here in MURRICA the price makes much more sense.

Pricing is probably more similar to what the upcoming Y will be, no?

When you do the currency conversion, it’s actually a bit MORE expensive in the US...by about US$3000 for the base model
...
LOL.

We shall see. I’m guessing that the initial Model Y units produced will be higher trim levels.

Losing the grille actually distracts you from the misplaced projector headlights. Though the front now reminds me of this:

I guess I don’t pay much attention to the exchange rate, last time I thought about it I remember it was basically 1:1 but I guess the balance has tilted since then.
The main difference is the Model 3 price, here in the US the base before govt incentives is $39,900 vs. $36,950 on the Kona EV. Still close, but I feel like stripper base Model 3s aren’t exactly common.

Yes.. it would be nice if strippers were more common...
