Nice ‘74 F250, 4x4, manual 4 speed, $8,500. I don’t know a lot more (like, what engine - don’t know) but I certainly could find out, isn’t there someone here looking for just such a truck ? This is for sale by a friend of mine.
It also has an overdrive? There’s a third shifter on the floor. I’m sure my friend could explain that to me, or some Oppos probably know what that’s about, too. Anyway. Neat truck, looks nice.

I think so, at least for New England.

What is it about vintage trucks that allows them to pull off brown paint?

Wasn’t everything brown in 1974?

8500 in Michigan doesn’t buy much in trucks. If I hadn’t bought this I’d be interested.

Transfer case?

The need to know what the third shifter is for is killing me, one is obviously transmission, the other would be the transfer case, and the third IDK. There were 4 speed overdrives available in the dentside, but from what I can find they were only available from 78+. The O/D four speed was a side shifter, which would expl ain the stick coming out of the side of the tunnel, but it looks like the stick for the standard T18/T19 is still there as well? Find out more please, I need to know.

quote from the seller:
np 435 and a ranger torque splitter, You can split every gear if you want to.
So that third shifter must be the ranger torque splitter. I don’t know much about that but I didn’t talk to him directly yet, he’s at work and so am I.

Well, transmission (1) transfer case (2) and a ranger torque splitter (3)

Neat, I’ve seen the Gearvendors overdrive units that bolt onto the back, but never these. I might have to find one for my ‘50 once I get to building it.

Seriously, it’s pretty neat. I’d be much more tempted by this truck if I didn’t already have my ‘61, though the ‘74 would be a lot better for towing. I’m not switching trucks again just yet.
