...about slammed 1st gen CRVs?
Looking on Craigslist nationwide, a cleanish 1st gen CRV with a five speed will sell easily in the low-2k range. I think they look nice lowered.
Plus, since it’s a Civic and uses a Civic engine, most bolt-ons will fit, and you’d have decent cargo space... basically a lowered CRV is a Civic wagon with AWD.
I really don’t think this would be a bad idea?

*shrugs*
i think its not my money they are wasting

I like lowered crossovers, seems good to me. I really like lowered HRVs.

ooh I love that

I love lowered, souped up CRV’s
![]() 05/26/2019 at 15:31 |

Intake, exhaust, cam, chip, bam, you’re done
I think. For VWs at least. I might end up being a Honda Boi. Oh well
![]() 05/26/2019 at 15:34 |
|
I kind of like that one in the first pic.
I will warn you, after trying (and failing) to find a decent CRV for around $5k for my neice, a $2k CRV is going to have almost 300k miles, and/or be in pretty rough shape, or be a scammer's pos t.

I cringe every time I pull out of the Target parking lot and my car is stock ride height. You do you.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 15:48 |

Living in PA with our shitty roads, I can’t understand why anybody would lower their car and drive them on our streets. I’d rather put a lift kit on my Fiat than lower it.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 15:53 |

goooooooooo loud as fuck car.... i know your drivers french b ut you can do this
![]() 05/26/2019 at 16:04 |

If your gonna slam something, a crv is a good candidate.

If your gonna slam something, a crv literally anything is a good candidate.

Go to bed, Farscythe, you’re drunk
Wait so am I
![]() 05/26/2019 at 16:09 |

Can you do the “Mini-me” on these? I had a Navy buddy who had one swapped into a Civic. Its the B20 with a B16 VTEC head run by an Integra B18 ECU. It was a surprisingly quick little car.

I mean, I have friends with low cars. It’s... doable in my city. If I do this, I’d do no lower than the stock ride height of a Civic of similar vintage. So I wouldn’t bottom out on bumps, but I’d still be hunting to avoid potholes, same as I am now in my Golf.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 16:11 |

umm.... why would i go to bed for being drunk?
thats the best time to be awake
![]() 05/26/2019 at 16:12 |

What gen were you looking at? mid-100k ones with a five speed aren’t horrifyingly expensive here.

that said.... my comment was sposed to be in the indy thread

I like it a lot — slammed CR-V, slammed Forrester.
...Are there any slammed RAV4's???

I wish. Those only get lifted. Must have clearance issues.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 16:49 |
|
Makes it look like a Honda Wagovan. I like it. Negative camber... no.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 16:51 |
|
Nah, I’ve never been a fan of the low and slow camberbros. If I do this I’m gonna keep it within reasonable streetable specs. It would be exactly like a slightly larger, little newer, less rusty Wagovan.

Please dont ruin nice cars.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 17:47 |

I don’t have the clearance to use my own driveway.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 18:16 |

you have given me an idea for my CR-V now....i’m thinking lowered on white TE37s, it’s blue already...yellow fog lights...brb gonna mspaint it
![]() 05/26/2019 at 18:20 |
|
Wow. My driveway is very steep but my Miata and Fiat can get up without scraping as long as I take it at a little bit of an angle.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 18:40 |
|
We basically have a 4-5 inch curb to clear unless you pay for new sidewalks with a driveway grade . If I back in at an angle I can clear it but I haven’t found a way to drive out again without scraping! Thankfully my license plate bracket takes most of the abuse. I street park unless I’m out of town.

Honda Forester...they look ok like this IMO.

Ouch. I say build a wooden ramp.

They are all over the place here in Columbus. But we are a bias market with Honda right up the road. But we also see the opposite, with them lifted. Tbh I like the "jdm" one below

All the 1st gens are pretty nice. The “JDM” one I like, except the spoiler.
I'm not a fan of the bagged one. 1st gen is the best looking CRV IMO.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 20:53 |

...yes?
![]() 05/26/2019 at 21:19 |

These and lowered Foresters are the epitome of Millennial car mods.
Change my mind...
![]() 05/26/2019 at 21:21 |

Y eah the spoiler is a bit much. Though interesting to see it without the spare.
And first get is best gen
![]() 05/26/2019 at 21:43 |

Doesn’t mean rhey don’t look kickass.
Plus, the math says I am a millenial.
![]() 05/26/2019 at 21:45 |

I kind of want to keep the spare on the hatch. It’s cool. Wish my Golf had it mounted like that.
![]() 05/27/2019 at 08:12 |

I was looking at 1st and 2nd gens. I didn’t even specify the transmission filter for autos, beca use I just assumed they were all auto matic. I don’t recall any manuals coming up though.

WOAH!
Intake, exhaust, cam, chip
Isn’t 400 hp going a little extreme in a CRV?
![]() 05/28/2019 at 07:57 |
|
Everything’s better lifted:
![]() 05/28/2019 at 08:54 |
|
In general: if something looks good lifted, it will also look good slammed.
![]() 05/28/2019 at 09:00 |
|
Well, yeah, but that 400 is at 12000 RPM with a beijing boosty boi and it only does it once
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:01 |
|
Sorry, playing on the old Honda thought process.
“Dude I just put an intake and exhaust on my D16!”
Oh ya?
“Ya, totally making 300 hp now!”
*Shakes head and walks away*

I’m just not a fan of making vehicles less useful.
To each their own, that’s what makes this site great.
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:08 |

A DC racing tip is 15 hp EASY.
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:13 |
|
Must be the Skunk intake that’s the other 180 hp....
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:28 |

How much do cut springs add?
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:29 |
|
But like... lifting it makes is less useful too
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:31 |

False.
S igned,
O wner of a lifted minivan
![]() 05/28/2019 at 10:32 |

I can’t recall anymore, I thought they were only like 5 hp, unless you heated them with a torch, then they added 50 hp.
![]() 06/01/2019 at 09:51 |
|
I’m on board with both and I’m a Millennial, so...
![]() 06/01/2019 at 09:53 |
|
Nah, it still only has 12 lb ft of torque.
![]() 06/01/2019 at 11:33 |

Lol.
I did have an Outback I considered lowering so...
