I had an exhaust shop swap my muffler and redo some exhaust hangers on the exocet. Unfortunately, the exhaust got a bit too quiet with the new muffler. It’s not that it doesn’t flow well, it just does it’s job too good.
Of course, being carb exempt means I can legally see what it’s like with out a cat, so I chopped it off and slipped on a test pipe. Now it’s a little louder than before, less beefy sounding, but much racier. I decided to do a little sound meter test and it seems to somewhat confirm what I thought: it’s not too loud. It’s kind of just about max loud.

Be patient. Once it breaks in it should sound much much better. I bet it’ll retain that angry growl and just deepen a bit.
