Parts are actually not too bad

Depends on the part. When I needed a fusible link I found the last one in the Las Vegas area. Thankfully I was able to clean the corrosion off the old one, keeping the new one for an emergency. Other parts haven't been to bad, but it is a 30 year old car and things will get tougher...

Did you check with the dealer? I’ve found moans on the forums about certain parts being NLA or super pricey that just wasn’t the case.

Best example is subframe bushings, everyone was saying the only option is powerflex but the dealer got them for me from Germany for 50 a piece. Also I just received brand new nurburgring m5 package  swaybars for mine from Germany through the dealer

I do shop around and really haven’t had many issues. Sometimes the dealer is best, other times I’ve got some favorite suppliers that get me some good prices, especially when I do a little computer work for them on the side. I’m not worried for now, but nowadays I’d just prefer a simpler car with fewer things to break; s unroof, power seats, trip computer, etc. have all failed in one way or another, and if I didn’t have those items they wouldn’t break...
