I ha d some super l ast minute travel plans, and my day-of booking with a Hyatt House property landed me an u pgrade to a top- floor corner suite with vaulted ceilings and a wraparound deck . Room service hooked it up with a bottle of Crispin’s Honey Crisp cider and some surf & turf on the house . Good reminder of why I love Hyatt House properties, and Hyatt in general.
The cider is super fizzy, which I love. Lots of bite. A bit bland though, with the carbonation and alcohol masking the flavor. I’ll definitely be finishing it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to grab another bottle.
How’s your night going?

I’m still working so that’s neat. But I have some nice Diamond Knot Brown and Scuttlebutt Brut waiting in the fridge.

Where did you travel to? Beer for me.

Have you been to Scuttlebutt’s taproom?

So far chugging Summer Shandy because why not. Jealous of the surf and turf, sounds like it’d hit the spot.
Considering opening a bottle of champagne, but that seems like a poor life choice. Might just go smoke instead.

Ha well... I was offered reimbursement for lodging and they didn’t ask me where I currently live so...
I'm actually just a few miles from home. Figured I'd enjoy a night away and earn some free points

I have not, I’ve heard nothing but good things from everyone. I really don’t have an excuse given my proximity.

Woodford Reserve I got from this year’s derby, almost gone. A nd Jose Cuervo Especial . It will be a rough morning. I am out of Vodka. Too far gone to go get more.

Surf and turf is one of those things that can almost never be bad. Even if it’s just mediocre, I’m happy to eat it.
A bottle of champagne seems like another one of those things. That's my vote!

Early morning?
I can hammer back shots of vodka like water, but even thinking about tequila makes me nauseous.

I’m not one to talk. With the exception of teriyaki, I haven’t once walked to any of the restaurants a literal block away from my condo.
Still... If you DO try it, report back. For science

Di- hydrogen monoxide has been linked to almost 100% of all drownings.
Be safe

I have a policy of always having two bottles of bubbly in the fridge. That way you always have one to use and one as a backup. That said, I preemptively blame you for my hangover tomorrow .

We had a mandatory community water safety class in high school so I’m prepared! I know how to turn my jeans into an improvised flotation device! (Never mind that if I’m on the water, I’m going to be wearing shorts)

I can accept that.
We need a classier word for a champagne hangover.

That seems like the proper skill to have when drinking water. If only everyone had your training!

I tried a pomegranate cider last night and it was really good.

Do you remember who makes it? I've had a few good pomegranate ciders

consumable liquids, the usual

The move is to drink so much champagne that it doesn’t give you a weird hangover. This was me with oil money.

Oil money you say?
What industry did you go into after getting out of oil?

My usual:
This stuff is surprisingly tasty and dirt cheap - 40 bottles for less than $3. Most bottled water just tastes like tap water and I feel ripped off if I drink any. I don’t care what the source is - if it’s clean and tasty I’m good. I t doesn’t need to come from some exotic source to make me happy.

Had a New Belgium Transatlantique Kriek. When the say it’s a sour beer they ain’t lying. Tasty, though, just not a beer I’d be able to drink a lot of at one time.

Dasani is my go-to, tastes the best to me. I'd go so far as to say that most bottled water tastes worse than tap water

Sour beers have become a new favorite of mine. I'll keep my eyes open for that one

I’m having a Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. The flavor is good, but it’s so flat. I don't think nitro beers are my thing. I’m still gonna have a few because I’m not wasting the $10 or whatever my partner spent on it.
Overall I’m doing pretty good. Managed to get to the gym a few times this week, and I’m taking a supplement that’s supposed to boost testosterone. I don’t know if it’s helping my workouts at all but it seems to have cranked up my sex drive to eleven, which is not really what I was hoping for and kinda unhelpful.

Dasani used to be my favorite, followed by whatever that stuff is that Pepsi sells. But this Costco stuff is just as good as those. And I’m in agreement with you - most bottled water tastes like ass.
I always crack up when I see bottled water from Mexico - the first thing they tell you, at least ages ago, when taking a trip down there is not to drink the water, yet here’s their water on the shelf. Maybe things have improved in the last few decades...

Big Oatis Oatmeal Stout from my local brew pub. Awesome beer.

I had a beer because I’m supposedly running in the morning. Turns out they never sent me the map for this week soooooo maybe I’ll just have a second beer.

Some Stanley Park tall cans and dissapointing gin mixed with something. And the I dunno, whatever else we brought up here. I’m at a wedding in the middle of nowhere and everyone is getting good and trashed

So far, so good. Not in a Hyatt wrap around vault with a crisp honey corner suit good. But good.
I’m drinking Alacran tequila. Good shit.

I haven’t tried a nitro yet. They’re high on my list since I absolutely can’t stand IPAs
Those things scare me a bit, at least once you get past something basic and pure like creatine and move on to a cocktail. It’s a shame there isn’t any kind of regulation for supplements. Even worse is that the only parties with enough money and interest to perform scientific trials and studies are various supplement companies, who are obviously a bit biased.
But hey, now you add some more whiskey to counteract the sex drive! Sounds like a win-win!

That sounds gooooood

Weirdly, whiskey (or just alcohol) doesn’t have that effect on me. Which sounds cool, but it’s really not.
This is an herbal supplement, so I think it’s mostly tribulus terrestris. I never put much faith in these kinds of supplements but I didn’t have to pay for it so I figured what the hell. I might be overstating the effect a little, but I do seem to be a bit keyed up. Today I had a long boring drive, and as soon as my mind started to wander it wandered right into the gutter and that’s unusual for me.

Super early. Left for vacation at 6am. 7 hour drive was un eventful . Still ipset I couldn’ t take the 612. Bleh.
At least I sober up quick. The hangover will last through the day. Nothing I can do about that.
