Actually, I learned in one discussion thread that there are two books: one more kid-friendly without the disturbing child abuse accusation. Curious which one will be the primary source for the movie.

Not that I’m willing to see it in a theater: no way I would make it through.

The movie is rated PG, I doubt there'll be much from the book in it besides a dog and some racing stuff. And the ending.

A friend recommended the book to me and I bought it.... I just got the kids version :(. So now i have a book for my future kids to read.
