I literally just hung up with a member. He’s stranded on the side of the freeway in his ‘18 F-Pace. Has less than 15 thousand miles on it. Probably less than that. Said it lost all po wer while he was driving and an engine performance affected light came on. He’s currently being towed to the local Jaguar dealership in the OC. His first words to me on the call were “Remind me never to buy a Jaguar again”.

In this time of confusion and upheaval it’s nice that some of the old traditions are still being upheld.

Someone at my daughter’s school has one with a vanity plate, “F- PACE S”. It takes all my willpower to not ask them what kind of car it is.

I laugh at these fragile souls. They clearly never drove cars in the 70's.
I remember reading old Consumer Reports auto issues from back then and most of the little synopses for each model would read something like “the (insert engine here) usually started and ran well but stalled once or twice during warmup.” MOST of them said that, including German and Japanese cars. Can you imagine how people today would react to their brand new cars stalling even once during warmup?

People spending big money or just looking at a luxury badge are often fooled with thinking that spending big money=reliability . It doesn’ t.

It’s like I mentioned to someone else. The luxury brands have, and it’s pretty brilliant if you think about it, morpphed people into thinking that spending big $$ or that star badge or roundel or whatever other luxury badge on the hood means they are getting top notch quality and dependability and they really aren’t. So when that X5s engine fails, or that Audis electronics go, they are stupidity going to wonder what they are paying $700-800-900-1000 bucks a month for.

I picked up donations from a lady a couple weeks ago that was complaining about all the problems with her Velar and how much she hated it and I literally almost chuckled. Like, you could have just googled “Ra nge Rover” and found that out.

A lot of luxury buyers are either too dumb or too old to do proper research on these vehicles.
