The FP Honda Africa Twin on the BTG run of the Nirburgring has me going back through my favorite motorcycle videos at the ‘ ring. There’s a lot of videos out there.

This one features an R6 driven close to the limit (from what I can tell). I like to watch it on my phone and then tilt my phone along with the bike. Emphasizes just how much lean these riders get.

Id love to see Marquez do a lap of the ring on his rc213v. Or any MotoGP bike/Rider combo really

This... makes me want a motorcycle even more. That said, part of me is surprised they let two and four wheels on the ‘ring at the same time. Even m ost test and tune days that I’ve been part of (where everyone is a competition license holder)   won’t even let open and closed wheel cars on the track together at the same time , much less bikes. From the driver prospective, the speed differential between someone like me in an improved touring car and someone in something like Formula Mazda is just so big. Closed wheel folks aren’t used to looking for things so small and so low in the mirrors, and nobody is used to those kind of closing speeds (either approaching or being approached).

It surprises me too, actually. I can’t think of another motorsports scenario with bikes and cars on the same course at the same time other than really racing like the Dakar rally . They are released in waves, but they still encounter one another.
