.....Yeah no, my local traffic is well behaved and intelligent by comparison. And this includes the people who, while normally never merging when a lane ends until well past the actual lane ends, have taken to voraciously enforcing people moving into a single file line. So I got nearly run off the road for daring to use a lane that would end.....in 4 miles. So we all came to a standstill thanks to dingbats who decided we would all merge into a line some 4 or 5 miles before we needed to.
It pains me that I typed all that out and I still rewatch that clip and go “Yeah, but taken as a whole.....could be worse”. We need fewer driver’s licenses issued.

I dunno -my theory is there was a car in the far left lane and he came up fast behind the mazda in the 2nd lane and did a hard lane change into the left lane to clear the mazda. Unfortunately when he straightened, the moment um brought the tail around.
We saw the mazda but not the car in the far left as he was having a code brown and slowed dramatically .

in California, “I need to be in that lane” is justification for, well, doing just about anything to be in that lane. No matter who or what is currently occupying it.
