I had someone beg me to meet them today to get some stuff out of a burned house. For like WEEKS.

I showed up, waited for 45 past the agreed time and then instructed all their possessions be thrown in the garbage.

Happened more than once in the Army. Except the meeting would be at 5 PM and and we’d be told about it at 5 PM and when we showed up, they’d say, “This meeting is going to last 90 minutes.”

thats one of the good things about being just a lowly tech (asides from not having all that many meetings) whenever they do say oh yeah you have a meeting at insert hours outside of my shift.... i say... yeah? thats paid overtime right?

if the answer to that is not yes i dont turn up

fortunately, this epedimic isn’t too bad at my office, but there’s a few people that schedule 1-2 hour meetings directly over lunch. i really wish there was an unspoken rule of: if you book a meeting over lunch, you’re buying lunch for everyone in that meeting.

Nah . I’ve been taking care of a ton of personal business items that I never had time to do when working full-time. Sold a marketing company that I put together for the sole purpose of finding a buyer and I’ve been living off of that for the past two months.

Trying to get into a union apprenticeship as a commercial electrician/plumber, which right now means taking refresher math courses and trying to find an “in” to potentially bypass the waiting lists....

That was my second visit too. The first visit I didn’t have a check book, which was necessary because HALF of the fee needed a check or money order, but the other half could be paid with card.

The problem is that I have team members in at least  6 time zones, so sometimes they don’t even realize they’re setting one right over lunch.
