I just told the driver of a gray C harger that she had no brake lights at all, so my day is rolling.

Its a busy day. One more driver with two lights out, and three with one light out.

And hopefully a good day: should get my Jeep back today after a transmission rebuild. $$$

Do they not have state inspections where you live?

Congrat$ on the tran$mi$$ion rebuild. I had the transmission done on my 2003 Odyssey last fall. They put a shift kit on it, and while it isn’t as smooth as the original trans, it definitely seems to pull better, especially in the higher gears. I like it. The original trans lasted 197k miles, which must be some sort of record for a second gen Odyssey.

What a gloriously mechanical beast.

No inspections. And I’ve twice recently seen police either fail to notice or ignore someone with at least two brake lights out.

Probably fail to notice in one case, but the SUV with only the 3rd brake light functional was directly in front of the police car.

The frustrating aspect to this transmission rebuild, is that a little over a year ago I thought I had had it rebuilt already. It turns out they only replaced the synchros .

The cops are quite chill here, my window tint is dark.

Motherfucker. The transmission rebuild shop, while delivering my transmission a day later than expected, did not sufficiently tie down the other transmissions in the back of the truck, and now my casing is busted. I won’t get the jeep back until Wednesday at the earliest.

And they’re giving you a discount for the added time due to their incompetence, right?

Couple hundred, but that doesn’t rescue my weekend that’s now shot to hell.

My d ay’s off to a great start. My computer stopped everything to do an hour’s worth of software updates mandated by out IT department. So, I spent the time reviewing my bank statement and found at least two suspicious charges. My wife has no idea what they are for, so now I have to track them down. I’ve been listening to hold music for the last half-hour.

Something tells me that’s not the normal tuning.

We had two credit cards compromised on the same weekend. I wish these losers would just go out and get a job.

But... FREE MONEY!!!!

It’s like the person who broke the window on my rental truck. Didn’t bother to steal anything because there wasn’t anything worth stealing. It’s just a great big hassle for me, the rental company, the insurance, and my company.

From what I recall, the engine was not far off from a normal 3.3L.
