Apparently my sketches are horrible, and I’m 13,

.
I made the mistake of commenting on the FP about kids and gun control. Won’t do that again.
Anyway. Here’s a DeLorean.

I think it’s badass. Is that a curved split window? That’s awesomely cray cray.
Also love the D headlights. If I had D shaped headlights, I would openly state “I’m going to give them the D” every time I flash the lights, haha.

Th
e headlights need to be both wide and tall. Lots of airflow, but lots of light signature.

I like it, always fun reimagine the oddballs of automotive history.
Also, l ol at that dude, not sure why anybody would wanna take shots at you.

I can take shots; got lots of armor and ammo. Lol, indeed.
I’d LOVE to design a new, stainless-steel-skinned
supercar. So wrong, but so right.

I don’t understand the mentality of a person who logs on to the internet just to insult someone they don’t even know well enough to dislike.
Anyway, most professional car concept sketches I’ve seen seem to start out by the designer harnessing his/her inner 13 year old. They’re supposed to be bonkers, over the top exaggerations to explore specific aesthetic ideas. I like your drawings.
On the gun control thing, I’d like to say that I learned a healthy bit about respect for guns from the Boy Scouts and my Dad and uncle. I learned that they are tools that are useful but can also hurt badly, like other tools. I was allowed to use them as a boy .
I was also never allowed access outside of a careful controlled and well supervised situation. Because kids don’t have consistently reliable judgement and emotional states.

I grew up shooting guns, too. .22s, rifles. It’s a tool. Sometimes people need them, when you liv
e on a farm.
Kids, especially boys in their early teens, given to crazy emotions, and access to assault weapons? I just can’t come close to understanding how that’s possible.. I grew up on a farm. Friends of mine were NRA members in their teens (the ‘90s...). I cried my eyes out when I heard about Columbine. And I still do, from time to time. The failure points are so glaring.
It’s a failure of one aspect of American culture, I guess. I hope and try to be the other side of it, tending the gardens, raising the kids who want to make things better for all of us.
It’s hard.

The character lines on this thing are dope!
Looks like a 135+ degree angle on the door stamping - wicked.

Seemed about right.

Well as a Boss 302 fan I think your sketches are great. Loved the delorean.
Especially for a 13 year old.
;)

Reviving the old post :)
Any chance you’d want to do a little collaboration to bring this a little closer to real life? I’m starting to think about my post-exocet project and am looking at modern production techniques to do a one-off car. Current line of thinking is to do a modern interpretation of a radwood-aged car with a mid-engined layout (I think a Delorean in 2020 would be mid engine).

FUCK YES.
Let’s do it. Reply here, I guess (hope) and let’s start talking.
