After several years of working with a great little team, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has earned its first press car.
Toyota likes what we are doing, and gave us a 2019 Tundra Platinum for a week. I’ll be towing down to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with it tomorrow and evaluating how it handles a 20' enclosed trailer, general racecar support duties, and typical DC-area daily driving.
With that said, what does Oppo want to know about a loaded-up brand-new Tundra?

why would you get one of these over a new F150 or Ram 1500 or Silverado?
Not even trying to be an ass but this gen Tundra
was *
facelifted* 5 years ago in 2014 and since then all of its competitors have been thoroughly redesigned.

That’s kinda what I’m here to figure out. I personally have a 2018 F-150 and have a lot of seat time with my trailer hooked to it. Will be very curious to see how this performs in comparison. Tundra (and Titan) both feel pretty old on the surface.

That looks like the same one Will from RFD had. Congrats on getting p ressers, it’s a nice perk.

2019 Tundra Platinum curb weight: 5670lbs
5670lbs = 2, 571.869 kilograms
Current price of Platinum: $ 27, 665.72 per kg
Ergo
2019 Tundra Platinum PNW presumed resale value for sellers who know what they have : $ 71, 152, 607.63
NP?

I’m curious as well. I bought a new F-150 in 2017. I briefly considered a Tundra , but I couldn’t come up with a single good reason to invest in what is essentially still a mid-2000's truck under the bodywork. The only potential reason I see is that if the Tundra is the truck you’re going to buy to try to drive for the rest of your life and see if you can roll over the odometer.

I am wondering this as well. IIRC, this truck does not rank well compared to the competition.

Because resale and reliability? But for some reason that only works for the Tacoma.
