Spotted this in the lot at our general offices. It wears a Porsche badge, but I have my doubts. It could be a944 with a body kit

Side markers seem longer than my early 944's, but who knows? I must know more.

my first reaction is it’s a 300zx but the windshield is all wrong, as is the rest of the car. So yeah it’s fake but not sure the origin of the species.

Real or not, it is very clean, and those vented headlights are period feeling coolness.

Exactly. That’s what made me think of it. At the same time I realize that’s not proof it’s a Nissan  underneath.

I should have walked around it more, but I was in a hurry.  It only had a single seat mounted. I agree that a lot of the lines are similar to the 300Z. What is entertaining is that many of our senior leaders are Porsche nuts and have the money to buy good stuff.  With the Porsche HQ a mile or so do the road we see all kinds of them.

The dash makes me say it’s based on a late 80's/early 90's car but I can’t for the life of me find anything that matches it.

The windshield is throwing me off because it’s a su per classic glass shape but most things that old have a chrome surround instead of black. Seems to be from an actua l roadster too , not a convertible.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the windshield comes from a different car than the dash.

This whole thing might just be a homebrew project because you can see the corner of the dash where it’s supposed to flow into a doo r card but do esn’t.

There is all kinds of weirdness going on there. The front screams Nissan, the windshield actually kind of does have a Porsche roadster feel to it, the back gives me a bit of a Corvette vibe, and all of the jankyness near the doors makes me think it is a complete homebrew.  If I had to guess I would say it is some sort of kit cobbled together on an old Beetle floor pan.

It might have some Porsche bits but I’m still guessing that it’s based on a Beetle chassis .
